Crystal Bridges announces new acquisitions

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art announced today it is acquiring pieces for its new exhibition, "All or Nothing," beginning Nov. 11, accoring to a press release.

The exhibition will focus on one of the beginnings of artmaking - "a black mark on a white sheet of paper or canvas," according to the press release.

The two new acquisitions are "White and Dark Gray Panels" by Ellsworth kelly and "Domino Players" by Agnes Gund. The exhibit will also feature pieces from Crystal Bridges' permanent collection. There will be 55 total pieces in the exhibition and it will be on display through May 28, 2018, according to the press release.

Crystal Bridges is also bringing back pieces from "State of the Art: Discovering American Art Now."

"State of the Art" was in view from Sept. 13, 2014 to Jan. 9, 2015. Two versions of the exhibit traveled to five other museums and galleries between 2016 and 2017, according to the press release; Minneapolis Institute of Art, Telfair Museums, Dixon Gallery and Gardens, the Frist Center for Visual Arts and The Mint Museum.

"Since the debut, this exhibition has reached nearly 350,000 visitors at six venues, increasing awareness for contemporary artists working all over the country," said Rod Bigelow, Crystal Bridges executing director and chief diversity and inclusion officer.

Additional "State of the Art" pieces will go on debut Nov. 11.
