Haley Cornell belted two home runs, including a grand slam, and Nicole Hendrix added an inside-the-park home run as Bentonville rolled past Fayetteville in the 7A-West Conference opener for both teams Wednesday in Fayetteville. Cornell hit a two-run shot in the first inning, then blasted her grand slam as the Lady Tigers (5-0, 1-0) erupted for 12 runs in the fourth. Hendrix added to that outburst when her inside-the-park home run drove in three runs, and Cornell drove in her seventh run of the game with a single. Maddy Prough allowed just three hits and struck out seven for Bentonville, which hosts Van Buren this afternoon.

Rogers High 7, Springdale Har-Ber 3

Jadyn Heinle had two hits and drove in two runs to lead the Lady Mounties to the 7A-West Conference win. Sarah Hulsey also drove in two for Rogers (2-1, 1-0 7A-West), which led 7-0 after three innings. Kaylan Melvin picked up the win, allowing three runs on 10 hits over 6 2/3 innings. She struck out one and walked two. Aryn Scoggins led Har-Ber, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored.
