LR to offer opportunities with city at job fair

Little Rock will advertise jobs in its 14 departments at a career fair next weekend.

The event is from noon to 3 p.m. on March 11 at the Southwest Community Center at 6401 Baseline Road.

Attendees can apply onsite for city jobs or submit a card of interest to be notified when a particular job opening becomes available.

The fair will also offer information about volunteer opportunities in the Parks and Recreation Department and at the Little Rock Zoo. The zoo will have animals on hand and will offer short presentations during the career fair.

Representatives from the city's police and fire agencies also will be available to talk about their recruit academies.

"The fair is open to job seekers in every stage of their careers, from those just entering the workforce who are exploring career options to experienced professionals looking for new opportunities in a public sector environment," a news release from the city said.

The city will offer full-time, part-time and summer jobs. Summer employment includes lifeguards, parks pioneers and zoo workers.
