Fort Smith’s creatives collaborate

Voted one of the “must-see acts” by the Huffington Post in 2015, Humming House embodies what is right about 21st century Nashville. It’s the way they weave together threads of Music City’s legacies. It’s the inspirational and revealing song writing. It’s in their acoustic guitar and bass. And it’s in the voices — with two stylists up front and backed by the full band’s rapturous harmonies.

Formerly a less-than-pleasing patch in downtown Fort Smith, Garrison Commons is now a beautiful little "pocket pack" with food trucks, picnic tables, the mural created by Portuguese street artist Vhils during the first Unexpected Mural Festival in 2015 and a stage for live music.

Today, the first major free event takes place at the park as folk/blues band Humming House returns to Fort Smith for a concert collaboration between the Unexpected Festival and the Peacemaker Music & Art Festival. The Nashville-based quintet are known for their blend of folk, soul and bluegrass and performed at the Five Star Productions Theater last year as part of the Peacemaker Music Series.
