FAYETTEVILLE -- Several people died recently in vehicle accidents in the city.
W.Q. Hall, 88, a former Madison County judge and Huntsville resident, was killed in an accident at 12:05 p.m. Monday on Arkansas 45, according to a Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash report.
His son Timothy Hall, 60, of Springdale was driving a 2005 Ford Thunderbird south with his father in the passenger's seat. The car veered into the ditch and hit a concrete culvert.
Timothy Hall was injured and taken to Washington Regional Medical Center, where his father's body was taken.
On Friday morning, Tara Elizabeth Pritchett, 23, of Fayetteville was killed after hitting a vehicle with her scooter, according to a State Police report.
Pritchett was riding east on West Persimmon Street near the intersection with North Mountain Ranch Road about 4:38 a.m. when she hit the left side of a vehicle traveling north, according to the police report.
Pritchett was taken tothe hospital where she died Saturday, according to Fayetteville Police.
Pritchett's body was sent to the Washington County Coroner's Office, according to the state report.
The incident was a hit-and-run and there were no witnesses. The driver and the type of vehicle are unkown, according to police.
"It's still under investigation," Sgt. Anthony Murphy said. "It's really uncertain at this point. We will have to wait for the accident reconstructionists to finish to see what they think."
Forrest Caple, 40, of Alma died July 19 in a pileup on Interstate 49.
The four-vehicle accident happened about 7:40 a.m. as Caple was driving north near the Wedington Drive exit, according to a State Police report released Monday.
The 2002 Dodge Dakota that Caple was driving didn't slow down as it approached traffic, causing the vehicle to hit a Chevrolet Tahoe, which hit a Chevrolet Impala, which hit a Toyota Camry, according to the report.
A passenger in Caple's Dakota and the drivers of the three other vehicles weren't injured.
