The officer placed Smith in the rear of the patrol vehicle where Smith was able to slip his handcuffs under his legs to the front of his body and exit the patrol vehicle, fleeing west, on foot, on Halleck Coach Road.

Police agencies including Decatur, Highfill, Gravette K9 and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office have assisted the department with the search.

Police think Smith may be in a 2002 tan Chevrolet Cavalier with license plate 588UTB.
