FS NORTHSIDE

Making the grade

Tuesday's combined 50-point effort by guards Isaiah Joe and Tevin Brewer gave Fort Smith Northside's Eric Burnett plenty of reasons to smile, but the Grizzlies coach tried his best to temper his excitement.

"I would give us ... an A-minus," Burnett said after Northside's 76-69 victory at Little Rock Central. "There's still some things we need to do. We've got to do a lot better job of rebounding. That's what got [Central] back in the game. And I still think we've got to get better defensively by moving our feet."

Joe, a University of Arkansas commit, hit 10 three-point attempts and scored 34 points while Brewer added 16 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds. The Grizzlies were 14 of 23 on three-point attempts and 27 of 44 overall.

"With those guys shooting the ball like that, I really can't say much about the offensive end," Burnett said.
