Teen Action & Support Center backers went "All In Northwest Arkansas" on Jan. 28 at the Embassy Suites in Rogers. The more than $62,000 from the casino night benefit will help the center provide free support services for teenagers and their families. Jennifer Krein, TASC director of education and resources, said the center served some 420 families through a variety of offerings such as In Service, First Steps, The Closet, Teen Thrive and Restore.
Krein said In Service is the group's largest program. Participating teams volunteer at a number of Northwest Arkansas nonprofit organizations such as Autumn's Reride Youth Ranch, Arkansas Public Theatre, Yvonne Richardson Community Center, senior centers and Seeds that Feed. Last year nearly 200 teens provided 4,291 hours of volunteer service with an estimated $100,000 economic impact.
