Governor's appointments

Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced the following appointments Wednesday:

Capitol Zoning District Commission: James Smith, Maumelle, expires Aug. 13, 2020, replaces Michael Hutchinson; and Beverly Jones, Little Rock, expires Aug. 13, 2020, reappointment.

Residential Contractors Committee: Jake Arey, Bryant, expires Oct. 1, 2020, replaces David Hargrave; and Dan Gamble, Manila, expires Oct. 1, 2020, reappointment.

Arkansas Department of Aeronautics: Michael Hutchins, DeValls Bluff, expires Nov. 9, 2022, replaces James Blansett; and Ed Sanders, Hot Springs, expires Nov. 9, 2022, replaces David Glover.

Women's Suffrage Centennial Commemoration Committee: Tracie Rushing, Cabot, expires Dec. 31, 2020; Lori Klein, Searcy, expires Dec. 31, 2020; and Ann Clemmer, Benton, expires Dec. 31, 2020.

The governor also appointed:

Timothy Watson, Newport, as circuit judge of the 3rd Judicial Circuit, Division 2. Expires Dec. 31, 2018. Replaces Judge Philip Smith.

Dana Stone, Murfreesboro, as district judge of the Pike County District Court. Expires Dec. 31, 2018. Replaces Judge LeAnne Daniel.

Lee Watson, Fort Smith, as a special associate justice of the Supreme Court of Arkansas in the case CV-17-240 Larry Walther, Director, Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration v. FLIS Enterprises Inc. Replaces Chief Justice John Dan Kemp, who has disqualified himself from the case.

Curtis Cunningham, Siloam Springs, to the Advisory Council for the Education of Gifted and Talented Children. Expires July 20, 2020. Replaces Dustin Seaton

Steve Groves, Garland City, to the Garland Levee District Board of Directors. Expires Oct. 1, 2023. Reappointment.

Freddie Black, Lake Village, to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. Expires Jan. 14, 2023. Replaces Daniel Greenberg.

Edgar Mersiovsky, Conway, to the Arkansas Board of Registration for Professional Soil Classifiers. Expires Nov. 1, 2022. Reappointment.

David Harris, Huntsville, to the Arkansas Manufactured Home Commission. Expires Sept. 1, 2018. Replaces Shirley Montgomery.

Wesley Walls, Little Rock, to the state Board of Architects, Landscape Architects and Interior Designers. Expires April 26, 2020. Replaces Lowell Wetherbee.

Roger Hooper, Clinton, as a special county judge in the County Court of Conway County in the case CCR 2017-1. Replaces Conway County Judge Jimmy Hart, who has disqualified himself from the case.

Lucas Childress, DeValls Bluff, as a justice of the peace for the Prairie County Quorum Court, District 7. Expires Dec. 31, 2018. Replaces Matt Sterling.

Russell McAllister, Paragould, as a justice of the peace for the Greene County Quorum Court, District 7. Expires Dec. 31, 2018. Replaces Shawntae Thompson.

Aaron Camp, Paragould, as a justice of the peace for the Greene County Quorum Court, District 2. Expires Dec. 31, 2018. Replaces Barry Bateman.

Thomas Voegele, Conway, as a justice of the peace for the Faulkner County Quorum Court, District 5. Expires Dec. 31, 2018. Replaces Barry Williams.

Nicholas Nugent, Bull Shoals, as a justice of the peace for the Marion County Quorum Court, District 2. Expires Dec. 31, 2018. Replaces David Nixon.
