Basketball: Har-Ber earns close road win

Springdale Har-Ber earned a close road win to climb to .500 heading into a short holiday break, rallying from a first-quarter deficit to edge Clarksville 52-50 on Tuesday in nonconference action.

Har-Ber (5-5) rallied from a first-quarter deficit to earn the road win.

"This was a solid team win," Har-Ber coach Jamie Green said. "Everyone contributed. I'm proud of our players to have worked as hard as they did for four quarters, and to get a tough road win."

Maci Mains scored 19 points and had 4 assists to lead Har-Ber. Savanna Collins added 18 for the Lady Wildcats to go along with 4 steals. Grace Dougan led Clarksville (5-4) with 16 and Alexie Tibbs added 13.

"We've had an extremely tough, competitive nonconference schedule," Green said. "That is what we wanted, and it's what we've needed to prepare for the 7A-West."

Har-Ber will be off until Dec. 27 when it competes in the annual Neosho (Mo.) Holiday Classic.
