Program gets veterans paddling, fishing, relaxing

Paddlers with Heroes on the Water head out on Lake Fayetteville for a morning of fishing on July 8. The organization offers kayak fishing trips to veterans, firefighters and law enforcement at no charge.

A day on the lake is more than fins for anglers with Heroes on the Water.

Gone fishin’

The next Heroes on the Water fishing trip is 8 a.m. Aug. 27 at Lake Atalanta in Rogers. Trips are also set for 9 a.m. Sept. 16 at Siloam Springs Lake and 10 a.m. Oct. 15 at Lake Fayetteville.
