The man attached chains to a sport utility vehicle and the ATM to break into the machine, the Little Rock Police Department said. The crime happened about 2 a.m. at the Eagle Bank at 650 S. Shackleford Road.

A post on the Little Rock police Facebook page did not indicate whether the man was successful in accessing the cash.

Police described the thief as light-skinned with long dreadlocks. Police also released surveillance images from the ATM.

No arrests had been made in the case as of late Wednesday.

Robbers steal car at gunpoint in LR

Two gunmen stole a Cadillac from a driver outside a Little Rock department store Tuesday night, police say. Hours later, the owner of the car, who was not the driver, called officials to report that the vehicle had been found.

The Little Rock Police Department responded Tuesday to a report of a vehicle stolen outside Burlington Coat Factory at 9101 W. Markham St.

A 27-year-old woman told officers that a dark-colored Chevrolet Tahoe bumped into the black Cadillac ATS she was driving about 11:30 p.m., so she pulled into the store's parking lot.

Two people, each with a black handgun, got out of the Chevrolet and began yelling at her to get out of the Cadillac, according to a report.

After the woman exited, the two robbers got into the Cadillac and fled west on Markham Street, followed by someone driving the Chevrolet, officers noted.

At least one other person was reportedly in the Cadillac at the time of the carjacking, authorities said.

Police were able to verify later that the vehicle had been recovered by its owner, authorities said Wednesday morning.

No suspects were named, and no arrests were made Wednesday.
