COWBOYS

Gregory suspended again

FRISCO, Texas -- Randy Gregory has been suspended 10 games by the NFL on top of the four-game ban the Dallas defensive end was already serving for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

The announcement Thursday was expected after Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Gregory had withdrawn his appeal.

Gregory won't be eligible until Week 16, before Dallas' Monday night game against Detroit on Dec. 26.

The second-year player from Nebraska slid to the Cowboys at the end of the second round in the 2015 draft after testing positive for marijuana at the NFL combine. According to the labor agreement, four positive marijuana tests can lead to a 10-game suspension.

Gregory, 23, rejoined the team this month after spending time in rehab.

JETS

WR Decker sits out again

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker sat out his second consecutive practice with a shoulder injury, increasing the possibility that he could miss the game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

Decker did not even participate in stretching with the team Thursday, standing on the sideline in street clothes while his teammates practiced.

Decker injured the shoulder against Buffalo on Sept. 15, but it worsened last Sunday during the loss at Kansas City. The wide receiver said after the game that the shoulder was sore, but it appears it could be worse than that.

Coach Todd Bowles said Wednesday that Decker would probably have an MRI on the shoulder, but that still hadn't happened as of Thursday afternoon.

Bowles acknowledged that the injury is "a concern," and added that he hopes it doesn't sideline Decker for multiple weeks.

BROWNS

Gordon enters rehab

CLEVELAND -- Suspended Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon said Thursday he is entering a rehab facility to "gain full control of my life."

Gordon is serving a four-game suspension for multiple violations of the NFL's substance abuse policy.

He was eligible to return next week, but the troubled 25-year-old released a statement Thursday saying he decided to "step away from pursuing my return to the Browns and my football career to enter an in-patient rehabilitation facility."

The former Pro Bowler has only been able to attend meetings with the Browns during his latest suspension.

He was banned by the league for all of last season. The Browns had been encouraged by the progress he seemed to be making.

Gordon thanked the league, his teammates and agent for their support "through this extremely challenging process."

Gordon has been suspended for 30 of Cleveland's past 35 games.

SEAHAWKS

Wilson: Will play Sunday

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson said Thursday there is "no doubt" he will play Sunday against the New York Jets.

Wilson suffered a sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee in Sunday's 37-18 victory over the 49ers but says he has no limitations in the knee and will play Sunday.

"I feel great," he said when he met the media before practice Thursday.

Asked what he was able to do at practice on Wednesday, Wilson said "everything."

"I don't want to miss a day, ever, so that's just kind of my mentality," he said. "So I've got to do whatever it takes."

PANTHERS

Stewart has bad hamstring

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Ron Rivera says running back Jonathan Stewart will miss his second consecutive game this Sunday with a hamstring injury when the Carolina Panthers visit the Atlanta Falcons.

Stewart was injured in the team's Week 2 victory against the San Francisco 49ers and hasn't practiced since.

Rivera says Stewart will be evaluated on Monday.

Cameron Artis-Payne will start at running back and Fozzy Whittaker will be used as a change-of-pace back with Stewart out. Last week Artis-Payne carried 12 times for 47 yards and had one reception for 12 yards in a 22-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Whittaker had five carries for 22 yards and five receptions for 34 yards.

Carolina will also be without first-round pick Vernon Butler, who's expected to miss a few weeks with a high ankle sprain.

BEARS

QB Cutler doesn't practice

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Although Chicago Bears Coach John Fox is back at practice after a day away because of illness, his starting quarterback isn't participating.

Quarterback Jay Cutler had practiced Wednesday on a limited basis for the first time since suffering a thumb sprain Sept. 19, but did not practice on Thursday.

As a result, Brian Hoyer continues to run the offense.

The Bears (0-3) are also without their top two running backs and rookie Jordan Howard appears to be the starter for Sunday's home game against the Detroit Lions (1-2).
