BENTONVILLE -- The Northwest Arkansas Community College Foundation has hired Annetta Tirey as its executive director, according to a college news release.

Tirey has worked for Tyson Foods for 22 years, most recently as director of corporate social responsibility. She has managed the philanthropic and corporate social responsibility strategic direction related to grants and charitable initiatives, team member engagement, team member giving and disaster relief programs, according to the release.

She also managed the philanthropic grant process, cultivated relationships with external partners and grantees, and collaborated with various business units, executives and employee groups.

Tirey will transition to the college foundation in the coming weeks where she will assume leadership of the NWA Ripple Effect, a fundraising campaign aimed primarily at raising $15 million to build a facility in Washington County.

Tirey has a bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Central Arkansas. She replaces Meredith Brunen, who left the college this month for a position at the University of West Florida.
