Jason Lynn Ripley, 40, was taken into custody at 2 p.m. and charged with possession of firearms by certain persons, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison, according to police.

He remained in custody Wednesday in lieu of $5,000 bond, and a parole hold and is set to appear Oct. 17 in Garland County District Court.

According to the affidavit, investigators with the Garland County sheriff's office and Arkansas Community Correction conducted a search warrant on Ripley's residence after receiving information there were firearms and stolen property inside. As a convicted felon, Ripley cannot legally possess any firearms.

Inside the residence, an Arkansas Community Correction officer reportedly located several rounds of ammunition, body armor and a semi-automatic rifle with a scope.

Outside of the residence, officers located several spent rounds of ammunition and a surveillance camera system.

They found Ripley's personal items and were told by his grandmother that he resides in the trailer behind her residence.

Ripley was convicted in 2012 for felony false imprisonment and second-degree battery.
