SPRINGDALE -- Department of Homeland Security agents served multiple search warrants across Northwest Arkansas early Thursday morning, authorities said.

The warrants were served as part of an "ongoing investigation," said John Ahrends, Homeland Security resident agent in charge.

Officials with the Rogers, Bentonville, Fayetteville and Springdale police departments confirmed their departments assisted serving the searches. They directed further questions to federal authorities.

Search warrants in Springdale were served at 1128 B Conner St., 1811 Patti Ave., 2091 A Emily Circle and 514 Butterfield Coach Road, Apt. F 205, according to Lt. Derek Wright, spokesman for Springdale police.

Barry Larry, 29, was booked Thursday into the Washington County Detention Center. He was arrested in connection with a parole violation. His address is 1811 Patti, according to the detention center's website. Barry was on parole after serving five months of a four-year sentence after pleading guilty to felony counts of aggravated assault, domestic battery and terroristic threatening, according to Benton County court records. He was released from the Benton County Jail on April 16, 2015, according to his jail release report.

Andre Smith, 36, was being held Thursday in the detention center in connection with contempt of court and failure to appear. His address is the Conner address, according to the detention center website.

The other addresses weren't found on the detention center intake website late Thursday afternoon.

Ahrends didn't expect any other information concerning the warrants would be released Thursday. Homeland Security will turn over its case to the U.S. District Attorney's Office and any information after that will come from the U.S. Attorney's Office, he said.

Bryan Cox, a Homeland Security spokesman, said the agency served state warrants in Washington County, and the U.S. District Attorney's Office for the Western District of Arkansas was involved.

Cox declined to elaborate on the nature of the investigation. The U.S. Attorney's Office didn't immediately return a request for comment.
