Police: Pickup rams vehicle, causing it to roll onto tent, kill woman in Garland County

HOT SPRINGS -- Garland County authorities are searching for the driver of a pickup who rammed another vehicle Tuesday morning, causing it to roll over a tent occupied by a woman, killing her.

According to a news release from the Garland County sheriff's office, the Hot Springs Police Department and Arkansas State Police responded to the 2700 block of East Grand Avenue to a traffic accident at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday.

A man told officers he was camping with a woman in a wooded area when two unknown individuals in a pickup drove through the area and got into an argument with him before driving away.

A short time later, the man said the same truck came back and rammed the back of his vehicle, causing it to roll over the tent and killing the woman.

The victim's name has not been released pending notification of the next of kin.

The driver of the truck left the area, according to the report. Investigators arrived on scene and found evidence the vehicle was rammed from the rear.
