Traffic lights cause trouble near MLK and I-49

FAYETTEVILLE — Drivers might want to choose different routes while traffic is held up on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around Interstate 49.

Traffic lights are flashing red at King's intersections with Futrall and Shiloh drives. Flashing red lights act as all-way stop signs, allowing traffic to move through an intersection only a few cars at a time.

Fayetteville police are sending a unit to direct traffic, Sgt. Craig Stout said around 1:45 p.m., and the city’s transportation division is also sending a unit to find out what caused the flashing and reset the lights.
