Christian Scientist sets talk on prayer

First Church of Christ Scientist of North Little Rock/Sherwood will host a free public talk, "Counteracting Terrorism, the Global Reach of Prayer," at 10:30 a.m. June 25 at the Argenta Branch Library, 420 Main St., North Little Rock.

The talk will be given by Kari Mashos, a Christian Science practitioner and teacher, and will draw on ideas from the book Science and Health With Key to the Scriptures by the denomination's founder Mary Baker Eddy, as well as from the Bible.

Mashos was an opera singer before becoming a full-time practitioner and teacher of Christian Science healing. She has spoken on radio programs in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia and is a contributor to Christian Science publications. She is also a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship.
