Rogers man accused of sexually abusing girls

BENTONVILLE — A Rogers man was arrested Tuesday in connection with sexually abusing two girls.

Matthew Adam Arnold, 27, was being held Wednesday in the Benton County Jail with no bond set. He was arrested in connection with rape and sexual assault in the second degree.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint Monday concerning a sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The girl reported that Arnold had touched her inappropriately, according to the affidavit.

A 9-year-old girl also came forward to report that Arnold had inappropriately touched her, the affidavit states.

The two girls were interviewed at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Benton County, according to the affidavit.

The older girl reported that Arnold had not only touched her inappropriately, but had been trying to convince her to send him nude photographs, but she refused, the affidavit states.

The younger girl was interviewed and she provided details of being sexually abused by Arnold, according to the affidavit.

Arnold’s arraignment is set for 8 a.m. July 18 in Circuit Judge Robin Green’s courtroom.
