A Taylor man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman Tuesday afternoon, according to the Columbia County sheriff.
Glyndal Ray Plumley, 75, was arrested Tuesday and is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Tami R. Benson, 47, of Taylor. Sheriff Mike Loe said the shooting occurred about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday at a residence at 2289 Columbia County Road 21 in Taylor.
Loe said there were no other suspects at this time, but the investigation is ongoing with assistance from the Magnolia Police Department.
Plumley was being held in the Columbia County jail.
