"My reason for being a painter comes down to a few basics: my love of nature, the positive beautiful glimpses of life which surround us, and wanting to share these personal perceptions and joy with the viewer."

Julie Mayser, an Arkansas resident, is an award-winning painter whose works have been displayed in galleries across Northwest Arkansas, as well as in collections around the world. She works in watercolor, pastel, acrylics and oil mediums, but is perhaps most well-known in Arkansas for her pastels and oil landscapes.

"My work is ever-evolving, leaning toward representational painting with hints of impressionism," she says in an artist statement. "My paintings are truly serene, whether depicting the solitude of the countryside, a quiet still life, or a portrait of animal or person, they are visual meditations that beckon viewers to discover their own inner calm."

Mayser's work often includes still lifes, landscapes, cityscapes and portraits, but all with her recognizable style of bright colors, strong contrasts and rich textures.
