New York-based Bruckmann, Rosser, Sherrill & Co. has acquired Arkansas’ Daisy Outdoor Products, a manufacturer of youth airguns and accessories, the private equity firm said Wednesday.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed in a news release.

According to the firm, the investment was made through BRS Outdoor Sports Holdings LLC, which also owns Gamo Outdoor SLU and New Archery Products.

“We look forward to strengthening the company’s position in the youth market and are very pleased for BRS Outdoor Sports and Gamo to be involved with the next chapter of growth for Daisy,” said Stephen Sherrill, co-founder and managing director of BRS.

Rogers-based Daisy Outdoor Products was founded in 1886 in Plymouth, Mich., as a windmill manufacturing company and has since become known for its BB guns, which have appeared in symbols of popular culture such as the 1983 film A Christmas Story.

The company moved to Rogers in 1958.

After moving its assembly plant to Missouri in 1997, Daisy Outdoor Products returned to northwest Arkansas in 2007, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette previously reported.
