BLYTHEVILLE -- Authorities will extradite a Blytheville couple who were arrested in Indiana after they were accused of stabbing their landlord Monday, said Capt. Scott Adams, commander of the Blytheville Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division.

Jeffery Rhodes, 45, and Reddie Rhodes, 57, face charges of second-degree domestic battery and theft after police said they stabbed Billie Marie Minyard, 57, in the face, hands and neck. Adams said the couple were evicted from their Chickasawba Street home in Blytheville by Minyard and that they had demanded money back.

Minyard, who at times lived in the same home, refused and was stabbed, Adams said.

Minyard was transported to Regional Medical Center in Memphis for treatment. She was listed in critical condition Monday before being released Tuesday, Adams said.

Police said the couple took Minyard's 2011 Nissan Sentra and her purse and fled about 1:30 a.m. Monday.

Sheriff's deputies in Putnam County, Ind., which is southwest of Indianapolis, responded to report of a vehicle accident late Monday, Adams said.

They found that Jeffery Rhodes had run off the road in the stolen vehicle and was still in the car, Adams said. Reddie Rhodes had gotten out of the car moments before the crash, after arguing with her husband, and she walked to the crash scene where she was arrested, Adams said.

The two waived extradition and are expected to return to Blytheville within two weeks to face charges, Adams said.

He said they also could face burglary charges because they're accused of breaking into Minyard's residence to get their rent money back.
