Anna Daily of Ascendant DX LLC is one of 10 finalists for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2016 InnovateHer Business Challenge. The Springdale company developed Melody, a diagnostic tool able to detect early-stage breast cancer by identifying specific proteins present in tears. The Small Business Administration’s InnovateHer: Innovating for Women Business Challenge is a nationwide business competition to highlight products and services created and launched by cutting-edge entrepreneurs. Daily is competing for one of three awards totaling $70,000.

Kelley Talley joined the Fayetteville office of Weichert Realtors-The Griffin Co. as a Realtor. She earned a bachelor’s degree in public health from the University of Arkansas.

Jill Miller joined Weichert Realtors-The Griffin Co.’s Fayetteville office as a Realtor. She is a member of the Northwest Arkansas Board of Realtors, the Arkansas Realtors Association and the National Association of Realtors.

Nate Miller joined Weichert Realtors-The Griffin Co.’s Fayetteville office as a Realtor. He is a member of the Northwest Arkansas Board of Realtors. He had a career in building and remodeling historic homes before working in real estate.

Dr. J. Thaddeus Beck of Highlands Oncology Group authored research that was accepted for presentation at the 33rd annual Miami Breast Cancer Conference March 10-13. The research studies the efficacy of a specifically targeted treatment of breast cancer.

Ryan Salyer joined Colliers International-Arkansas as a broker specializing in leasing opportunities. He has a background in construction management, production and quality control, and real estate sales and leasing. He was an agent with Coldwell Banker Harris McHaney & Faucette in Bentonville and was a leasing agent at Mathias Properties in Springdale. Salyer earned a bachelor of science in construction management from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo.

Dr. Larry Wright joined Circle of Life Hospice as a full-time physician. He was executive director of the Schmieding Center for Senior Health & Education. Wright received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. His postgraduate training included an internal medicine residency at St. Louis University and fellowship training in Geriatric Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He is a fellow of the American Geriatrics Society and the American College of Physicians.

Allen Bangs of Candlewood Suites was named Hospitality Hero of the Year by the Fayetteville Visitors Bureau during an annual luncheon on Jan. 20. Erica Vaughn of the Chancellor Hotel was named Hospitality Hero Manager of the Year. In addition to Bangs and Vaughn, the bureau also recognized these other monthly winners: Lacy Chappell, Homewood Suites; Andrew Parsons, Chancellor Hotel; Jessica Mason, Hampton Inn; Kim Humphries, Days Inn; Pam Cooke, Chancellor Hotel; Adan Gonzalez, Hampton Inn; Ron Brashear, Hampton Inn; Claudia Rivas, Hampton Inn; and Lorna Jackson, Baymont Inn.
