USA Truck sets CEO's salary at $425,000

Randy Rogers will earn an annual base salary of $425,000 as the chief executive officer of USA Truck, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Rogers, who was hired by the Van Buren-based company Wednesday, also will receive a $150,000 cash signing bonus, restricted shares of stock equal to $300,000, and up to $60,000 in relocation allowance as part of his compensation package. Twenty-five percent of the restricted stock will vest on June 30, while the remaining will vest in three equal annual installments.

Former CEO Tom Glaser will earn an annual cash retainer of $40,000 and an annual equity retainer of $60,000 in his new role as vice chairman of the company's board. Glaser also will receive a one-time grant of 6,500 restricted shares of USA Truck stock vesting in three equal annual installments in "recognition of his service" with the company.

Michael Borrows, the company's chief financial officer, will earn an annual salary of $300,000.

CapRocq announces 3 new acquisitions

CapRocq Core 2, a Little Rock-based real estate partnership with assets in the South and Midwest, announced three new investments Thursday: the Titan Office Building in Greensboro, N.C.; 855 Grandview Ave. in Columbus, Ohio; and Mission Towers in Mission, Kan. The acquisitions bring the fund's holdings to more than 1 million square feet and more than $100 million in assets.

The group's portfolio includes Village on the Creeks in Rogers and properties in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Nebraska. The newest properties closed in the last quarter of 2015 for purchase prices ranging from almost $7.3 million to nearly $10.8 million.

CapRocq Core 2 was founded by Franklin McLarty, Kevin Huchingson, Dewitt Smith, Isaac Smith, Ted Dickey and Mark Saviers.

State stocks climb; Murphy Oil up 6.5%

The Arkansas Index, a price-weighted index that tracks the largest public companies based in the state, rose 1.57 to 286.03 Thursday.

Twelve stocks advanced and six declined.

Murphy Oil climbed 6.5 percent in heavy trading.

P.A.M. Transportation was up 6 percent on low volume but hit a 52-week low early in the session.

Murphy USA fell 7.1 percent in active trading.

USA Truck dropped 1.6 percent on heavy volume and established a 52-week low.

Total volume for the index was 32.4 million shares.

The index was developed by Bloomberg News and the Democrat-Gazette with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 30, 1997.
