3 men get more than 17 years for stealing more than 4 dozen firearms

FORT SMITH — Three men have been sentenced to more than 17 years in prison combined for stealing more than four-dozen firearms from a Berryville gun store.

Federal prosecutors announced the sentences Thursday for Tillamook, Ore., resident Taz Bibey and Eureka Springs residents Timothy Brown and Andrew Davis.

The three men were also ordered to pay nearly $18,000 in restitution.

Prosecutors say Davis and Bibey both admitted their roles in the crime and told investigators it was Brown's idea to burglarize the gun shop.

Davis and Bibey told investigators that they loaded the guns into boxes and transferred them to Brown's van. Prosecutors say the guns were then taken to Missouri to be sold.

Investigators said a person in Missouri later admitted to buying three guns from Brown.
