Lamont Levi Green, 35, who formerly listed a Leonard Street address in Hot Springs, was booked into the Garland County jail at 10:45 p.m. Thursday on the rape charge, which is punishable by up to life in prison if convicted.

Green's bail was set at $50,000, according to information from the Garland County sheriff's office.

A bench warrant was issued for Green on Feb. 11, 2015, after an investigation by Hot Springs police. The warrant noted Green was reportedly staying with his mother in Los Angeles.

According to an arrest affidavit, on Feb. 1, 2015, Hot Springs police went to National Park Medical Center after receiving a call that a 15-year-old girl had been raped while staying overnight at a residence in the city.

She told police that while she was at the residence, Green began to fondle her while they were lying on a couch watching a movie, the affidavit said. She told police she and Green had oral sex and sexual intercourse, according to the affidavit.

On Feb. 7, Green was interviewed at the Police Department after being read his rights. He was asked about the allegations and reportedly stated, "It's been a whole week and I've been tortured with this," according to the affidavit.

When asked to explain what happened, Green refused, the affidavit states, adding that he "would like to talk with my family versus the system and the law about what happened."

He was released at that time pending further investigation and could not be located when an arrest warrant was issued four days later, according to the affidavit.
