Senior Bruno Mariscotti led the way for Bentonville with a two-over par 74. Mariscotti played as the No. 4 player in the lineup but displayed the Tigers' depth with the low round on his team.

"This is a great start to the season, especially with this great group of guys," Mariscotti said. "We're all great friends but we like to be competitive when we can and it's fun.

"It was fun out there today and it went good."

Greenwood made a push for the team title, as Nathan Munday equaled the low round of the tournament with a 2-under par 70 to go along with teammate Evan Griffith's 75. But the Bulldogs couldn't match the Bentonville strength beyond the top two spots.

"We have a lot of seniors back on our team this year," Mariscotti said. "So we're hoping for the best."

Nate Morey, Will Remerscheid and Mickey Zeher each carded scores of 78 for Bentonville to help complete the win.

Springdale Har-Ber's Kade Keith took medalist honors Wednesday. Keith matched Munday with a 2-under par 70, then defeated Munday on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff.

Keith plays regularly at Springdale Country Club and helped the Wildcats to a third-place team finish.

"I just wanted to get a nice start to the season and help my team do better this year," Keith said. "I got off to a little shaky start today but I was able to get things under control and do what I usually do.

"This gives me a lot of momentum going into the rest of the season and lets me know I can compete for the rest of the year. It gives me a lot of confidence."

Defending Red'Dog Invitational champion Fayetteville, and Harrison -- which won the tournament from 2012 to 2014 -- both elected not to enter this year's event as many of their players were competing this week in out-of-state tournaments.
