What can the indefatigable Waltons be advocating now? In a word, just about everything good: healthier living through gardening, downtown development in every little town in Northwest Arkansas, farmers markets, beehives, gardening, fresh fruits and vegetables, mountain bicycling complete with bike racks . . . you name it. And if you don’t, there’s always next week—when they’re sure to come up with even more and better ideas. For great families make great states, and it’s hard to think of a family that has done more for Arkansas, and will keep on doing it.
For there is a new generation of Waltons, too, including Tom and Steuart and a handful of others who always seem to be doing what they can to make Arkansas a better place. May their tribe increase, as it has increased for years. And Godspeed.
