SOCCER

Little Rock Rangers tie Memphis

Sam Tejada scored the tying goal in the 84th minute and the Little Rock Rangers tied Memphis City FC 3-3 on Sunday night in a friendly match in Memphis.

The Rangers, a first-year National Premier Soccer League team, earned the I-40 Cup by virtue of their 5-4 goals advantage against Memphis. Little Rock beat Memphis 2-1 on Friday in front of an announced crowd of 3,700 at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

TJ Rodriguez scored on a penalty kick in the 10th minute and Nick Vasquez had a goal in the 55th minute for the Rangers. Bryce Deaton had 12 saves. The Rangers will play their first South Central Conference regular-season match Friday at Dallas City FC.

ASU men in fourth at Sun Belt Championship

The Arkansas State men’s golf team shot a first-round 289 on Sunday in the Sun Belt Conference Championship at Raven Golf Club in Miramar Beach, Fla. Tanner Napier shot a 2-under par 69 to lead the Red Wolves and is tied for fifth place. Oswin Schlenkrich shot a 1-over 72 and is tied for 14th place. Seth Garner is tied for 17th place with a 2-over 73. Andrew Huseman had a 75 and is tied for 32nd while Joel Wendin shot a 79 and is tied for 50th.

Henderson State men lead GAC Championship

The Henderson State men lead the Great American Conference men’s golf championship after one round at Hot Springs Country Club.

The Henderson State men posted a team score of 2-over par 290 on the Arlington Course, holding a three-shot lead over Southern Arkansas (293) and Arkansas Tech (295). Mauricio Lira and Brice Howard led the Reddies, each shooting a 1-under 71 and are tied for third place.

Southern Arkansas’ George Adams is the men’s individual leader after posting a 5-under 67.

Christian Barrett’s 3-over 75 helped the Henderson State women tie with Southwestern Oklahoma at 27-over 315. Barrett is second individually behind Arkansas Tech’s Jessica Sachs.

SOFTBALL

Arkansas loses at Mississippi

Arkansas (17-32, 1-17 SEC) blew a 5-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning and lost 6-5 to Mississippi (34-15, 9-9) in Oxford, Miss.

Kylan Becker scored on a bases-loaded walk to give the Rebels the victory. Nicole Schroeder and Shelby Hiers homered for the Razorbacks.
