FAYETTEVILLE -- A woman with a history of alcohol-related arrests who missed a scheduled mental examination in December showed up for a rescheduled examination Friday, according to Washington County prosecutors.

Jo Lynn Jackson had her latest cases reset in November in Washington County Circuit Court to allow time for a mental examination, but a letter from doctors to Circuit Judge Joanna Taylor said Jackson didn't show up.

Seth Creed, deputy prosecutor, said he was informed by Jackson's attorney Friday morning Jackson had met with the psychologist for her exam.

Jackson, 54, could have been held in contempt of court or had her bond revoked for failure to show up for her court-ordered examination. Her next court appearance is set for Tuesday, but the case is expected to be reset pending the results of the examination.

Jackson is charged with filing a false police report, a felony, in which she claimed a Washington County jailer sexually assaulted her in a shower when she was in jail.

Investigators watched videos from the cell block from the evenings the jailer worked and Jackson was a detainee and found the jailer never went into the shower with Jackson, police said. The jailer denied any wrongdoing and passed a lie detector test.

Jackson was arrested in July on suspicion of filing a false police report.
