SPRINGDALE — Pratt & Whitney won a contract worth up to $11.34 million to remanufacture engine rear turbine cases at a Springdale facility, according to a statement Wednesday on the U.S. Department of Defense's website.

The work is expected to be completed the 2020, according to the statement. There were two other offers for the work.

The work is being contracted by the Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma.

Sen. Tom Cotton applauded the news in a statement.

"Earlier this year I visited Pratt & Whitney and saw firsthand the extensive infrastructure they’ve put in place to facilitate this project," he said in the statement. "Between their efforts and the spirit of the Arkansas workforce, I know they will do an excellent job.”
