FAYETTEVILLE -- Rep. David Whitaker, D-Fayetteville, will run for re-election in 2016, he has announced. If elected, this will be his third term in the House District 85 seat.
No opponents have announced.
"It has been the privilege of my life to serve the people of Fayetteville, Farmington, and Prairie Grove in the Legislature, and I hope they'll give me the honor to continue to serve them for another term," Whitaker said.
Whitaker is an Air Force veteran and former assistant city attorney for the city of Fayetteville. He announced plans for a campaign kickoff in Fayetteville on Monday at Apple Blossom Brewing Company from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
