Bentonville woman arrested in connection with attempted capital murder

A 53-year-old Bentonville woman was arrested Saturday evening in connection with shooting at her husband.

Bentonville police logs show officers were sent to the couple's home at 5:46 p.m. because of a disturbance.

A news release from the Bentonville Police Department stated Cheryl Rusk, 53, shot a single round from a handgun at her husband Gary Rusk, 63. The shot missed Gary Rusk and Cheryl Rusk was arrested in connection with attempted capital murder, according to the release.

Cheryl Rusk was being held Sunday in the Benton County Jail with no bond set.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the police news release.
