Word came late last week that Donald Trump took credit for Rep. Kevin McCarthy dropping out of the race for speaker of the United States House of Representatives. But of course The Donald doesn't want to brag (!) so he humbly (!!) says others are giving him credit.
Or as he said hours after Rep. McCarthy announced he wasn't running: "They're giving me a lot of credit for that because I said you really need someone very, very tough and very smart" as speaker.
First thought: Of course he's surrounded by people who give him credit for everything. Do you think he'd have anything but yes-men and yes-women in his orbit?
Second thought: It's surprising the man doesn't take credit for the sun rising every morning.
