Four arrested in connection with Bentonville armed robbery

BENTONVILLE -- Four teens were arrested Monday in connection with an armed robbery.

Two 17-year-olds were charged as adults.

Osvaldo Junior Arteaga of Rogers is charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated residential burglary and possession of a handgun by a minor, all felonies.

Nodus Drake Schell of Rogers is charged with three felonies: aggravated robbery, aggravated residential burglary and possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver.

Arteaga and Schell are being held in the Benton County Juvenile Detention Center on $100,000 bonds.

Jamari Wallace, 18, of Rogers and Jameson Rogers, 18, of Bella Vista are being held in the Benton County Jail.

Wallace was arrested in connection with aggravated robbery, engaging in a continuing gang or organization enterprise in the first degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $50,000.

Rogers was arrested in connection with aggravated residential burglary, three counts of aggravated robbery, engaging in a continuing gang or organization enterprise in the first degree, criminal mischief in the first degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, three counts of possession with purpose to deliver a controlled substance, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, three counts of terroristic threatening in the first degree and theft by receiving. His bond was set at $75,000.

Prosecutors haven't filed formal charges against Wallace or Rogers.

Arteaga and Schell are accused of breaking into an apartment at Flagstone Creek Apartments in Bentonville while armed with a handgun and demanding money from Levi Renegar, Tyler Bloomfield and Nick Turner, according to the charging information.

Renegar told police he was awakened at 4 a.m. Monday with a pistol in his face, according to a probable cause affidavit. One of the individuals who pointed the gun at him demanded Renegar give him "everything" he had, according to the affidavit.

Two other intruders, one who had a gun, also were in the bedroom, according to court documents.

The intruders had their faces covered, but Renegar told police he recognized the voice of one of the intruders with a gun as Rogers, the affidavit states.

Rogers earlier had been at a party at the apartment, according to court documents.

Renegar recognized the voice of the second intruder with a gun as Schell, according to the affidavit.

The three proceeded to rob Renegar and the other two occupants at gunpoint. Each intruder made death threats during the incident, according to court documents.

Renegar told police two of the intruders removed the bandanas covering their faces. He identified them as Jameson and Schell, according to the affidavit.

Bloomfield told police one of the intruders held a black gun to his head and demanded money and anything of value, according to the affidavit.

Bentonville police stopped a vehicle that Rogers, Wallace, Schell and Arteaga were in.

Police found a black .40 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun tucked in the front waistband of Schell's pants. Police also found a black 9 mm Sig Sauer handgun in the front pocket of Arteaga's sweatshirt, according to the affidavit.

Wallace denied knowing about any guns and told police he was not aware of any robbery, according to court documents. Wallace claimed he was with the other three teens to pick up money from Renegar, according to court documents.
