Online technical-writing course offered

The J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville is offering an online graduate certificate program designed to help working professionals improve their technical-writing skills.

The Graduate Certificate in Technical Writing and Public Rhetorics program launched in May 2013 as an on-campus program. It is now available online, joining more than 30 programs showcased on the University of Arkansas ONLINE website.

The Technical Writing and Public Rhetorics certificate program consists of a four-course sequence designed to develop the writing skills of individuals employed in technical, business, government and not-for-profit arenas. Courses are offered in online and on-campus formats.

Each student in the program will produce a portfolio-ready final project in each course, giving him fresh materials that can be used in job applications or as documentation to justify a promotion. Courses are production-oriented, with the goal of equipping students with the theory and practical skills needed to be successful technical and professional writers.

Briefs are for businesses in Northwest Arkansas that are new, have moved or closed, opened a new branch, changed owners or have been honored by an independent organization. Email items to [email protected]. Information will be published as space allows.
