Beaver Lake: Anglers report good crappie fishing at night.
Aaron Jolliff at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said crappie are biting jigs at night around docks. Striped bass are biting large Bomber crank baits at dawn between Rocky Branch park and the dam.
Black bass can be caught shallow or deep. Try top-water lures at first light around flooded bushes and timber. After sunrise, fish 5 to 20 feet deep with plastic worms.
Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina said black bass can be caught with crank baits fished around green bushes.
Beaver tailwater: Nancy Rose at the Beaver Dam Store reports extensive power generation at Beaver Dam. Drift fishing from a boat is best
Use large streamer flies, red/gold spoons or olive-colored jigs in current seams. Nightcrawlers or Power Bait are the top baits.
Lake Fayetteville: Dolly Black at Lake Fayetteville boat dock said black bass are biting plastic worms. Catfish are biting cut bait fished along the dam. Bluegill are biting crickets or worms.
Lake Sequoyah: Mike McBride said the lake is muddy from lots of rain. Try for catfish with liver or shad.
Lake Elmdale: Lucky Key at Duck Camp Fishing Retreat said crappie fishing is good with small black/chartreuse Bobby Garland jigs fished on a 1/32nd-ounce jig head. Catfish are biting liver.
Black bass are biting dark-colored plastic worms. A 7-pounder was caught this week, Key said. Bluegill are biting crickets fished near the bottom.
Swepco Lake: Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting plastic worms 2 to 20 feet deep.
Siloam Springs Lake: Stroud recommends using top-water lures early and soft plastics later in the day.
Bella Vista: Justin McClelland at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said black bass fishing is good with jigs or plastic worms 8 to 15 feet deep at all Bella Vista lakes. Catfish are biting nightcrawlers or shrimp.
Eastern Oklahoma: The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports fair crappie fishing with jigs or minnows 10 feet deep around brush and docks.
