BEAVER LAKE

Crappie can be caught by trolling crank baits or casting minnows or jigs on the south end of the lake.

Garland Villines at Hickory Creek Marina said anglers are picking up crappie by trolling in the main channel. Fish jigs or minnows 12 to 18 feet deep around brush.

For black bass, try buzz baits early around green bushes. Go with plastic worms later in the day.

James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said striped bass are biting early from Point 5 to the dam. Brood minnows are working best, but stripers occasionally hit top-water lures.

Walleye are biting along flats. Trolling nightcrawler rigs, bass minnows or Flicker Shads is the best method.

Catfish are biting jug lines baited with sunfish or goldfish.

BEAVER TAILWATER

Nancy Rose at Beaver Dam Store said the best lures for trout are gold/silver spoons or small jigs. Power Bait or worms are the best baits. Top flies are Clouser minnows and woolly buggers.

LAKE FAYETTEVILLE

Dolly Black at Lake Fayetteville boat dock said bluegill are biting crickets or worms 2 to 10 feet deep. Black bass are biting plastic worms. Catfish are biting liver or nightcrawlers.

LAKE SEQUOYAH

Mike McBride at Lake Sequoyah bait shop said catfish are biting liver, worms or shad. Black bass fishing is good on a variety of lures. Crappie are fair with minnows or jigs 8 feet deep. Bluegill are biting any kind of bait.

LAKE ELMDALE

Lucky Key at Duck Camp Fishing Retreat said catfishing is good with limb lines or jug lines baited with small sunfish or goldfish. Bluegill are biting crickets or worms. Black bass fishing is best at night with dark colored spinner baits.

SILOAM SPRINGS LAKE

Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting top-water lures early and plastic worms later in the day.

SWEPCO LAKE

Stroud said black bass are biting plastic worms 2 to 20 feet deep.

BELLA VISTA

Justin McClelland at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said black bass fishing is good with plastic worms rigged shaky-head or Carolina style. Catfish are biting nightcrawlers or shrimp. Bluegill are fair on crickets 15 feet deep.

EASTERN OKLAHOMA

Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports fair crappie fishing on minnow or jigs 10 feet deep around docks and structure. Catfishing is good with limb lines baited with sunfish or shad.
