SPRINGDALE -- Wet field conditions at Arvest Ballpark forced the postponement of Wednesday's Texas League game between Northwest Arkansas and Frisco. The two teams will play a doubleheader at 5:05 p.m. Friday.
The two teams will play at 7:05 p.m. tonight in a game that is the OnDeck Minor League Baseball National Game of the Week on the CBS Sports Network. There will be postgame fireworks.
Wednesday's game was originally slated to start at 7:05, but the tarp was not removed until 7:20 p.m. after several hours of steady rain. It was then determined several spots in the infield were unplayable.
In other Naturals news, several national media outlets reported Wednesday that Kansas City Royals pitcher Jason Vargas is expected to make a rehab start with Northwest Arkansas on Monday when the Naturals host Midland. It will be Vargas' first rehab appearance since being placed on the disabled list with a left flexor strain June 13.
