Beaver Lake: Milder weather has brought a slight warm-up in the fishing action at Beaver Lake.

James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said crappie are biting in the War Eagle arm of Beaver Lake on minnows or jigs. Fish 2 to 6 feet deep near groups of tree stumps. Some big crappie have been caught this week, he said.

Striped bass fishing is slow, but a few are coming on on brood minnows or jigging spoons. The best area is from Prairie Creek south to Monte Ne.

Try jerk baits or Alabama rigs for black bass.

Black bass and crappie fishing is tough on the south end of the lake, reports Garland Villines at Hickory Creek Marina. Try minnows or jigs for crappie 12 feet deep around brush. Villines said he caught six crappie in six hours of fishing on Monday. Three were keepers of 10-inches or longer.

Go with jerk baits or crawdad colored crank baits for black bass, he suggested.

Beaver tailwater: Lisa Mullins at the Beaver Dam Store recommends fly fishing for trout with olive woolly buggers, scuds or midges.

The top lures are small olive jigs, Trout Magnets or Colorado spoons. For bait, use Power Bait in bright colors tipped with a waxworm.

Lake Fayetteville: Dolly Black at Lake Fayetteville boat dock reports little fishing activity. Try worms or crickets for bluegill. Go with minnows or jigs for crappie.

Lake Sequoyah: Mike McBride said black bass fishing is good with jig and pigs, plastic worms or minnows.

Crappie are biting minnows or jigs 4 feet deep over 8 feet of water. Some big crappie are being caught, McBride said.

Swepco Lake: Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs suggests using swim baits or plastic worms from 2 to 20 feet deep for black bass.

Siloam Springs Lake: Stroud recommends using minnows or small jigs for crappie 5 feet deep.

Bella Vista: Justin McClelland at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said black bass are biting Alabama rigs, Spro McSticks and Bass X jigs at all Bella Vista lakes.

Crappie are fair on minnows 8 to 12 feet deep around brush. Trout at Lake Brittany are biting small spoons.

Eastern Oklahoma: Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass at Lake Eucha are biting Alabama rigs or jerk baits.

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports good crappie fishing at Grand Lake with minnows 20 to 30 feet deep around docks and brush.
