BENTONVILLE -- A 52-year-old Bentonville man was arrested Thursday in connection with possessing child pornography.
James Warren Breedlove was being held in the Benton County Jail on a $30,000 bond Friday. He was booked into jail at 4:52 p.m. Thursday after his arrest in connection with three counts of distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, a Class C felony.
Prosecutors haven't filed formal charges against Breedlove. Arraignment is scheduled for 8 a.m. Feb. 23 in Circuit Judge Brad Karren's court.
Breedlove's arrest stems from a police investigation that began in Wadsworth, Ohio, according to court documents.
Wadsworth police referred the case to Bentonville police in December, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Parents of a 12-year-old girl reported to Wadsworth police their daughter exchanged sexually explicit messages and nude photographs with a man, according to the affidavit. The parents later refused to cooperate with Wadsworth police, who referred the case to Bentonville police out of concern Breedlove possessed nude images of the girl or was communicating with other girls.
Jerrod Wiseman, a Bentonville detective, interviewed Breedlove, who he said he met the Ohio girl via the KIK texting application. Police said Breedlove admitted he asked for and received nude pictures of the girl.
Breedlove also told Wiseman he knew the girl was 12 and he sent the girl photographs of himself.
Breedlove claimed the relationship with the girl lasted several months, and he later deleted the KIK application and quit communicating with the girl because his conscience began to bother him, according to the affidavit.
Wiseman's investigation revealed Breedlove also communicated with a 16-year-old girl in Cork, Ireland. The girl told police she communicated with Breedlove for a year and she thought he was 19. Police said the girl also said she sent nude photographs to Breedlove.
Police also learned Breedlove communicated with a 14-year-old girl in Clinton, Ill., and an 11-year-old girl in Georgia, according to the affidavit.
Breedlove admitted he received nude photographs of 10 girls who were under 17, according to the affidavit. Breedlove told police he would tell the girls he was 20 so the girls would feel comfortable sending him pictures.
Breedlove told police he had long relationships with three girls and they sent him pictures and videos of themselves.
Breedlove also admitted trading photographs with another person on a website, according to the affidavit.
