"That run gave us a little breathing room right there," said Southside coach Sherry White. "We had a terrible shooting night, but we have to give credit to their defense. They were in the passing lanes, and they contested every shot."

Rogers cut the Southside lead to 26-25 with 45 seconds left in the third quarter on a 3-pointer by Callie King, but Southside responded with a 10-0 run to take command. Bishop then hit two free throws with 3:32 left in the game for 36-25 lead. Rogers got to within 36-31 with just under 3 minutes left as Elise Randels had four quick points and Brooke Sagely added a stickback, but the Lady Rebels made free throws down the stretch to stop Rogers' comeback attempt.

Sagely led Rogers with 13 points but the Lady Mounties had 18 turnovers, including 13 in the first half as Southside built a 18-14 lead.

"Turnovers, that was the death of us," said Rogers coach Preston Early. "We fought it really hard and we played our guts out, but the turnovers just killed us. We were so inconsistent."
