An intoxicated Rogers man ran over another man with his vehicle, then drove to a liquor store drive-through Saturday, according to police documents.

Robert Stephen Brown, 58, of 2100 W. New Hope Road, was arrested Saturday as he pulled into his apartment garage, according to a probable cause affidavit for his arrest. Brown was being held Tuesday in the Benton County Jail on a $10,000 bond in connection with felony counts of first-degree battery, aggravated assault, leaving the scene of a personal property accident and misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated and refusing to submit to an intoxication test.

Police were called at 5:25 p.m. Saturday to 1305 W. New Hope Road for a pedestrian hit by a vehicle, according to police records. Police documentation of the man's injuries said it appeared bone was visible on the man's foot. A 24-year-old man was treated for injuries at the scene of the incident, but not transported, according to fire department records.

The 24-year-old man told police he'd parked at the apartment complex at 1305 W. New Hope Road to check on a car that had stopped in the outside eastbound lane, according to the probable cause affidavit. The driver said no help was needed and a vehicle, later determined to be driven by Brown, pulled up behind the disabled car and began to honk.

The 24-year-old man told police he walked away as the horn blared and “flipped off” the driver. A few steps later he was under Brown's vehicle being drug by his foot, according to police documents.

A witness told police he saw a light blue GMC Suburban, turn into the apartment complex, hit the man, then reverse and drive off. The witness followed the vehicle and said it pulled into the drive through at BJ's Liquor, 1902 S 8th St. after the incident, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Police stopped Brown in front of his apartment complex. Police said he appeared to be intoxicated but he refused to take any field sobriety tests, according to police documents. He told police he had not hit anyone with his vehicle.
