My favorite space is: The cozy dining nook in my kitchen.

Why? A few years back I attended an Interior Design Boot Camp with Tobi Fairley. She talked about the importance of not having “wasted space” in your homes. For us, the entry room in our home qualified as a “wasted space.”

I spoke with Tobi about my struggle to have a nice dining area to entertain guests and she asked, “Why not the front room?”… So we switched everything around.

We moved a small couch into our kitchen and it was honestly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for our home. We’ve recently replaced the couch with two oversized comfy chairs with a small table in between.

Our cozy kitchen nook is the most used room in the house and by far my favorite space. There’s a large window with a cafe curtain; we can pull it open and watch the pugs playing in the backyard.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Make it larger so we could add more chairs for when guests come over … but then it might lose the charm of being my cozy kitchen nook — so I probably wouldn’t change anything!
