Bass tournament to benefit council

The Clark County Literary Council will hold its third annual benefit bass tournament April 25 on DeGray Lake from safe light to 6:30 p.m. at Spillway Ramp.

Proceeds will be used to purchase literature, equipment and software for Clark County Literary Council students.

The entry fee is $90 per boat, plus an extra $10 to enter the big bass pot. First place will win an Alumacraft johnboat and trailer. Second through fourth places will win $500, $350, and $150, respectively.

Four fishermen withdraw from FLW

Four professional bass anglers have withdrawn from the FLW Tour in recent weeks.

On April 7, Guido Hibdon and Payden Hibdon, both of Sunrise Beach, Mo., withdrew from the four FLW events remaining in the season, citing lack of sponsorship money. Bradley Hallman of Norman, Okla., and Jeremy Starks of Scott Depot, W.Va., filled their slots, but Hallman withdrew. Jim Dillard of West Monroe, La., replaced him.

Van Soles of Haines City, Fla., withdrew from the FLW Tour on April 17. Joe Gerard of Concordia, Kan., from FLW’s Rayovac Series, replaced him.
