Third Fayetteville Man Arrested In Theft of Guns

FAYETTEVILLE -- A third man was arrested in connection with the theft of about 20 guns Sept. 9 at 14450 Hobby Lane.

Jovon Minor, 20, of 1126 W. Cato Springs Road was arrested Wednesday in connection with felony residential burglary and theft of property.

The Police Department Swat Team found the guns the following day at 5911 W. Tackett Drive. The guns were returned to the owner.

Haylen Thomas and Nicholas Ramsey were arrested Sept. 10 at the house on Tackett Drive.

Thomas was arrested in connection with felony theft by receiving and possession of firearms by a certain prohibited person and probation violation.

Ramsey was arrested in connection with felony theft by receiving.

Thomas told detectives Minor was involved in the burglary and came with Ramsey and a juvenile to his home to drop off several rifles and shotguns, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Ramsey told detectives Minor, along with two juveniles, drove to the house on Hobby Lane to steal the guns, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Minor was interviewed Wednesday at the Sheriff's Office after he was found at 1504 Kirsten Drive Apt. L in Springdale. Minor told police he, Ramsey and a 15-year-old boy stole about 15 guns, according to an arrest report.

Minor told authorities he was supposed to be paid for his part of the crime but wasn't, according to the report.

Minor was being held Thursday in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a $3,500 bond. Thomas and Ramsey are in the jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
