Cornel West set to talk at PB college

PINE BLUFF -- Cornel West, an author and university professor, will speak at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff next week.

The speech, part of the university's fall convocation, is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Sept. 25 in the J.M. Ross Auditorium of the Hathaway-Howard Fine Arts Building on UAPB's campus.

Admission is free.

West has taught at Union Theological Seminary, Harvard and Princeton, and he has written several books, including Race Matters. He appears frequently on the Bill Maher Show and the Tavis Smiley television programs, among others, and he is co-host with Tavis Smiley on Smiley & West on public radio.

The speech at UAPB is part of the Winthrop Rockefeller Distinguished Lectures Program.
