Three years after Arkansas’ men’s basketball program was penalized by the NCAA with the loss of a scholarship because of a low Academic Progress Rate score, the Razorbacks are set to have a perfect score, according to Athletic Director Jeff Long.

Long said Wednesday during an appearance at the Northwest Arkansas Touchdown Club the basketball program will have an APR score of 1,000 for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Long said he is “incredibly proud” of Mike Anderson, who is going into his fourth season as Arkansas’ basketball coach.

Official APR scores for all sports won’t be announced by the NCAA until April, but Arkansas’ preliminary internal calculations show a 1,000 score for the basketball team.

An APR score of 755 for the 2007-2008 year dragged basketball’s four-year score down to the point where the NCAA took away a scholarship for the 2011-2012 season.
